This is an example of a lantern that I made by embedding my etchings into hardened wax. These will be installed outside the Mill Gallery in Yeppoon, on the 23rd of March for the "Night Lights" exhibition.

I started by drawing my figure into a plastic surface. I them embossed the surface with a variety of foliage. I collaged paint, mesh tape, sand paper, and lacquer to the surface. Because the plastic is soft, ( much like lino) I was able to carve into the plastic as well. I then inked this surface of materials and laid a moist sheet paper on top. A traditional printing press pushes the plate and paper together and creates a limited edition print. As seen above.
